Claudia’s expertise in yoga therapy makes her the ideal teacher for every level of yoga – but it is her ability to communicate and connect with people that ensures great results!” – Anne S.

Yoga Therapy

Combining traditional yoga tools and western medicine healthcare, you’ll get to know yourself again.

As a certified yoga therapist, I’ll teach you the gentle tools and tricks for deeper self-awareness in your body and mind. Together, we build a life plan for you, one session at a time.

Services

After your initial evaluation, we’ll create a personalized plan, including gentle exercises, safe stretching, breathing techniques, and simple meditations.

OT/C-IAYT

Simply put, I’m a nurturer. With a career in modern medicine and learning about human physiology, I’m passionate about giving you hope and discovering a new wholeness in your body and mind.

Yoga therapy isn’t the same as traditional yoga. It’s a mix of yoga and healthcare–just like my background. I was an Occupational Therapist practicing in the Western Medical Model for many years before becoming a Certified Yoga Therapist. I have decades of experience supporting people in any physical circumstance.

I will meet you wherever you are. Yoga therapy is about living fully and vibrantly in every season of your life, nurturing your body and mind, and discovering a new possibility of wholeness.

Common Conditions for Yoga Therapy

Chronic Illness

Low Impact Activity

Discomfort in your body shifts all the time. With every session, we’ll take a new read on your physical wellness and find what exercises are possible for you today.

Strength

We’ll practice activities to support your bones, muscles, and everything else. Starting from the inside out, you can find greater mobility and stamina.

Breathing

A strange idea at first, learning how to breathe not only soothes your mind but also eases pain by maximizing the oxygen to the tissues in your body.

“Due to a chronic illness, my body has different needs at different times. Claudia brings a totally individualized practice. It reminds me of the difference between a clinic where you see a different physician each time you visit, and having a personal physician that knows you and your health needs well. I work on an issue with her and then have tools to use to address it in my daily practice. I cherish the trust I have in her so I can relax and give in fully to the practice.”

– Sally P.

Aging

Flexibility

Ease the stiffness that comes with age. We’ll use exercises to loosen you up and stay that way.

Strength

Despite muscle and bone loss, you can improve your stability and balance no matter when you start yoga therapy.

Breathing

Learn to notice your breath and all the muscles it takes to inhale and exhale. You’ll become aware of what it can tell you about your changing body and mind.

“I have been a private yoga client of Claudia’s for many years. Sessions always begin with her asking what I need today. She is intuitive and wise, kind and gentle, and through her teaching, I feel I have improved in alignment, balance, and self-awareness. As areas of concern have changed over the years, she has responded with poses and a practice to address each issue.”

– D. F.

Memory Loss

Guided Imagery

Stave off cognitive impairment, boost memory, and strengthen verbal skills through visualization techniques.

Movement

Gentle movements can improve your mood and memory. You may also find better focus and awareness of your body and mind.

Breathing

Rather than just “take a deep breath,” you’ll practice research-based breathing exercises that allow you to find peace and think clearly.

“I was headed down a path of mental decline. After brain scans and cognitive tests, doctors could tell that my brain was slowing. Then, Claudia walked me through a meditation. I began my practice in earnest, never skipping a day. I felt my mind coming back and eventually restored. My next cognitive tests showed scores in the normal to above normal ranges. I will never stop this meditation. It helps me to better focus and to keep a bright outlook each day.”
